Felted treeman !

I have been working on this off and on for a few weeks and still don't know if i am fully finished with it yet but i am going to leave it alone for now. This started off with a piece of handmade green felt that reminded me of part of a treetrunk shape. I was going to try and get it done to put in a show here but then i didn't think it was good enough anyway so i slowed down on it .
I used different merino and silk fibres lots of yarns  chifon scarfs for most of the background. The leaves were made from drier sheets with added fibres aand wool then hand embroidered and beads were added. I free motioned the felted piece with swirls to get the feeling of the knots and contour lines of the tree trunk and i added some random beads and hand stitching and french knots.  I added some tree twigs i picked up from my garden wrapped in mixed fibres and hand stitched in place. The photo does not do it justice it has such great texture. Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think !

Painted lace and muslin

Hi everyone ! i decided to play along at the  http://threecreativestudios.com/  technique of the month it was so cool seeing the transformation. I fused different pieces of lace to some fabric, then i added copper foil, i painted it over with lumiere copper paint then dabbed a mix of blue and silver with some perfect pearls added to make the shade of blue i wanted. Then on top i dabbed more copper mixed with some pearls. i added a little bit of rub n buff in copper and turquoise and voila a really cool surface and piece of fabric which i think i am going to turn into a journal cover.
Not wanting to waste the paint mixed i painted a piece of muslin with the paints and when dry i stamped some swirls on it looks so nice in real life. so here or the pics !!
