Painted lace and muslin

Hi everyone ! i decided to play along at the  technique of the month it was so cool seeing the transformation. I fused different pieces of lace to some fabric, then i added copper foil, i painted it over with lumiere copper paint then dabbed a mix of blue and silver with some perfect pearls added to make the shade of blue i wanted. Then on top i dabbed more copper mixed with some pearls. i added a little bit of rub n buff in copper and turquoise and voila a really cool surface and piece of fabric which i think i am going to turn into a journal cover.
Not wanting to waste the paint mixed i painted a piece of muslin with the paints and when dry i stamped some swirls on it looks so nice in real life. so here or the pics !!

  1. I've had doing that bookmarked and the materials out for ages but still haven't got around to it yet! Well done on yours, great effect. The blue and copper looks lovely.

  2. Oh this is gorgeous Michelle! What a neat technique! I sort of got lost on that site looking at all of the fun stuff! Wow! xxD

  3. The texture look great Michelle and i thing it would look great as a book Journal x

  4. Love your painted lace...thats the sort of thing I get up to...all your work is so creative...I only use my sewing machine for mundane things like mending and overlocking edges these days and prefer to embroider by I envy all these lovely postcards, and embellishing..

  5. Michelle, I am just catching up with blogs and really love the colours and textures produced here. Lovely.
